I frequently get asked if I know of any jobs available for folks who work overseas. Usually I ask around and there’s not much I can find, but I think I’m going to change my tactic. Now, if people ask me to help them find work, and I think they’re good people who are good at what they do then I’m going to mention them on my blog.
There’s a few folks who asked me recently that I’ll come back and mention tomorrow, but right now, my copilot on Fret War Ahsanul Haque is available for work. He did the entire design based on my direction, and working around my love of tables, to make Fret War look sexy. He did the unique fonts, and made the design much more standards compliant CSS than what I originally had.
If you see bad design mojo on Fret War that’s my fault, because I’m a lazy bastard. Without Ahsanul the site probably would have looked like whatever stock template I could find online.
He’s also able to code Python and Ruby with pretty decent experience in various web frameworks. In addition to that I did some tutoring with him on Fret War to help him up his code skills. I can say he’s very good on the front end and probably a decent junior level hire for additional web application development.
Ahsanul also did all of this with me just for fun. He’s a good dude, reliable, and smart. I mean the man speaks 5 languages including very good English. Probably better English than most Americans I know.
But, the number one reason you should contact him is because he’s one of the best overall players on Fret War. That guy can totally shred.
